ASPIRE ACADEMY AND S.E.A.T DISCUSS SPORT AND TECHNOLOGY

16 Sep 2015

Doha, 16 September 2015 . Aspire Academy this week invited Christine Stoffel, the founder and CEO of Sport and Entertainment Alliance in Technology (S.E.A.T), for a tour of Aspire Academy and a meeting to discuss opportunities for future collaboration.

During her visit, Stoffel was briefed about the Academy’s work and the development of sport and sports culture in Qatar more generally. She was also given an overview of several youth and sports development programmes in the country, the numerous major international sports events that Qatar is hosting as well as the role of Aspire Academy in contributing to the Qatar National Vision 2030.

She also attended a meeting that involved some key sports stakeholders in Qatar to discuss future possibilities, knowledge development and sharing best practice. As well as the Academy, stakeholders present at the meeting included the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SCDL), Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS), and Aspire INFRONT.

The meeting covered a number of important topics including the planning and development of sporting infrastructure, engaging with sports fans and building audiences, the digitisation of stadia as well as future trends in the global sports industry. The agenda also included a discussion around collaboration and opportunities for sports professionals presented by the S.E.A.T conference – an annual forum for professionals and executives in the sports & entertainment industry taking place in London in April and the United States in July 2016.

Commenting on her visit, Stoffel said: "It is very exciting to be here and it is amazing to see how Qatar is introducing itself to the world through sport. The sports development programmes and infrastructure here are amazing, and I think there are many great opportunities for cooperation between SEAT and Aspire Academy. The SEAT conference can help introduce the world's leading sports organisations to the great work Qatar is doing in terms of sport and athlete development, and can create many opportunities of collaboration and exchange of expertise between both sides. I would like to thank Aspire Academy for welcoming me to the country and look forward to potential future cooperation".

The S.E.A.T conference is the only peer-driven conference in the worldwide sports and entertainment industry and has had a profound impact on sporting organisations in America and beyond. The conference aims to support sports and entertainment leaders in leveraging the power of technology to deliver innovative fan and audience experiences, support collaboration across international markets and share ideas to further the sports and entertainment industries around the world.
