Rio, 14 August 2016. Aspire Academy graduate Mutaz Essa Barshim,a bronze medalist from last Olympic games in London 2012, started his quest for a medal at Rio 2016 Olympic Games with qualification for the final after clearing 2,29m in the high jump qualifying round on Monday morning. With this result he also topped Group A of the qualifying round.
Mutaz returns for the final on Wednesday morning to battle it out with usual rivals and fellow favourites for medals,like Drek Drouin, Erik Kynard and Bohdan Bondarenko.
