INTERNATIONAL BASKETBALL COACHES VISIT ASPIRE ACADEMY

Doha, 3 May 2016: Top coaches from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) took time off from their International Basketball Advanced Coaching course to visit the Aspire Academy.

The Qatar Basketball Federation invited top international coaches Pascal Meurs from Belgium and Menderes Gumusdal from Turkey to conduct a 3 day coaching course for local male and female coaches as well as roughly 30 coaches from the MENA region. The course, which is the first advanced level course to be held in Qatar, attracted national and senior club coaches, including over 70 Qatari men and women.  

During their tour of Aspire Dome, coach Meurs described the facilities at Aspire as world class and the commended the way Qatar was approaching sports development. “It’s my second time here in Qatar and l am pleased to be back here. It is good that these coaches are able to see these amazing facilities at Aspire Academy and the sports programs being run here, as it only serves to encourage and motivate them.”
