Beirut, 18 August 2019. The Qatari youth athletics team - including six current and three future student-athletes of Aspire Academy - won fourteen medals (4 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze) at the third edition of the West Asian Youth Athletics Championship, that took place in Beirut, Lebanon from August 15 to 18.
Out of ten countries competing in male events, Qatar was the nation winning the biggest number of medals and finished 2nd in the medal table.
The gold medals of Qatar were coming from Aspire Academy student-athletes Saeed Alabsi (100mH), Mohamad Nouh (high jump), Hamza Souissi (shotput) and future student-athlete Abdelmajid Abed (400mH), who will join Aspire at the beginning of the academic year 2019/20.
