Doha, 19 March 2019. Aspire Dome is set to host the 12th consecutive Artistic Gymnastics Word Cup running from March 20 to 23, 2019. Coming on the back of a hugely successful World Championships held at the same venue last October, this year’s competition will feature 188 gymnastics - 128 men and 60 women - from 57 countries.
At the event’s official press conference, Qatar Gymnastics Federation President and Aspire Academy Deputy Director of Education and Student Affairs, Ali Ahmad Al-Hitmi said he was confident this year’s 12th Artistic Gymnastics World Cup will live up to the excellent standard set from World Championship 2018. “We are aware that after such an achievement as we put up by hosting and holding the best World Championship last October expectations from gymnastic fans and new fans of the sport is high and they will be looking forward to the same organization and excellence as before. I lead a team that is willing and able to deliver yet another top-quality competition.”
In terms of Qatari gymnasts to look forward to in this year’s competition, there are Ahmed Al Dayani and Ahmed Mosa, both Aspire Academy graduates who have previously participated in this competition and making his debut at this level is Aspire Academy student-athlete Rasleen Saoud. “Saoud is among some of the upcoming gymnasts spoken of in promising positive terms and we wish him well during the 12th Artistic Gymnastics World Cup.”
Aspire Academy is an event sponsor and after the Press Conference, Aspire Academy Human Resources Manager, Khalid Sultan AlHamar signed the agreement on behalf of the Academy.
