HIGH POWERED THAILAND DELEGATION TOUR ASPIRE

Doha, 13 March 2019.  A delegation from Thailand led by Madam Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, Member of International Olympic Committee and Member of the Executive Board of National Olympic Committee of Thailand, which is in Qatar, visited Aspire Academy on Wednesday 13th March 2019 afternoon touring Aspire Academy. The high-powered Delegation from Thailand included Mr Somsak Leeswadtrakul, President’s Advisor of National Olympic Committee of Thailand (NOCT) Mr Gongsak Yodmani, Governor of Sports Authority of Thailand, Mrs Nittaya Kerdjuntuk, Director of International Cooperation Division, Mrs Sopa Vititamonvet , Chief of Sports Academic and Sports Science Research Section and Mr Montri Chaipun, Advisor to Governor of SAT.

Qatar and Thailand enjoy strong and friendly relationships which have given birth to many programs and projects of mutual benefit. At Aspire the visiting Thailand Delegation was met and welcomed by Aspire Academy Deputy Director General, Mr Ali Salem Afifa who went on to lead the tour. Madam Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul and her delegation had the opportunity to see the new Aspire Academy Football Performance Centre boasting state of the art equipment and latest cutting- edge sporting technology on their comprehensive tour.

Qatar Olympic Committee Secretary General, Jassim Rashid AlBuenain joined in the tour and assisted in guiding, showing and explaining to the Thailand Delegation some of the work and sporting operations at Aspire. Madam Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul was full of praise for the work on youth sports development and education prowess that is carried out at Aspire Academy and expressed her awe and admiration of the programs at Aspire Academy. “We at NOCT and in our country in general have seen the tremendous work on sports development visible here at Aspire and we intend to learn from Qatar and Aspire as well as exchange plans, programs and know-how on youth sports development. Out two countries have a good friendly relationship that we seek to explore further between Qatar Olympic Committee and NOCT in cooperating the fantastic work we have seen on our tour of Aspire. Thank you to Qatar and Aspire Academy for this opportunity today which enables us to see how Qatar has made great strides in football and sport development and we can look forward to working with you to develop our sports structures and running of sport in general amongst others.  Aspire Academy is indeed the best Sports Academy in the world and once one visits its easy to see why this sis so, it’s really a world class impressive institution”, concluded Madam Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul.
