ASPIRE GRADUATE AHMED BEDER QUALIFIES FOR RIO 2016

Riihimäki, 6 July 2016. Aspire Academy graduate and javelin thrower Ahmed Beder qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio after throwing 84.74m at the “Häme Games 2016” in Finland.

This result proved Ahmed's technical and tactical development throughout the current season, throwing 77.80m, then 79.00m, 80,00m and finally 84.74m. Esa Utriainen, former Finnish javelin thrower and current coach of Qatar's javelin team praised Ahmed for his performance and efforts during the preparation period: "He worked really hard and truly deserved to qualify for the Olympics."

Ahmed is the fourth graduate of Aspire Academy, who is going to represent Qatar at the upcoming Olympics that take place from 5 to 21 August 2016 in Brazil. His fellow Aspire graduates in Rio are Mutaz Essa Barshim, Ashraf Elseify and Abubaker Hayder.
