Rio, 20 August 2016. On Friday night Aspire Academy graduate and double Junior World Champion Ashraf El-Seify competed in the final of the Hammer Throw event at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
With a throw of 75.46m the 20-year-old Qatar finished 6th. The gold medal went to Dilshod Nazarov from Tajikistan (78.68m).
"At events like this you also need a little luck. I trained really well this season and I was more than ready for the Olympics and I also threw much further in recent trainings than today. But the World Championships are taking place next year and I am will give my best to get a better result in London", Ashraf said after the final.
