ASHRAF FINSHES FOURTH IN QUALIFYING GROUP A

Rio, 17 August 2016. Aspire Academy graduate and double Junior World Champion Ashraf El-Seify has just finished fourth in Group A of the qualifying round of the Hammer throw event at the Rio 2016 Olympics with a throw of 73.47m.

The finalists are determined after the end of the qualification Group B later today. The top 12 throwers will proceed to the final which will take place on Saturday, 20 August at 3.05am Qatar time.

Mutaz Essa Barshim, High Jump:
Sunday, August 14: High-jump Q A+B: He finished 1st in Group A (2.29m) and qualified for the final.
Tuesday, August 16: High-jump Final: He won the Silver Medal (2.36m).

Ahmed Bedir Magour, Javelin:
Wednesday, August 17: Javelin Q A or B, 20:30pm or 21:55pm (Brazil) / Thursday, August 18, 2:30am or 3:55am (Qatar)     
Saturday, August 20: Javelin Final, 20:55pm (Brazil) / Sunday, August 21, 2:55am (Qatar)

Abubaker Haydar, 800m:
Friday, August 12: 800m RI, 10:10am, 4:10pm (Qatar), He finished 5th in Heat 6 of Round 1 (1:47.81).
