Doha, 7 December 2016. The Chairman of the Soccerex, Mr Tony Martin led a strong delegation that included participants at the Doha Soccerex Asian Forum 2016 on a visit of Aspire Academy on Tuesday 6th December afternoon.
Soccerex has been bringing together the global football industry to network, gain insight and socialise for over 20 years and during a comprehensive tour, the delegation learnt about the educational and sports training programs the Academy provides for its students in support of Qatar’s future athletes.
In acknowledging the work and facilities of Aspire Academy, Mr Tony Martin expressed his admiration of Aspire ,its approach and philosophy for sport development, “ One’s understanding and appreciation of this country’s determination and ambition to be a centre of sporting excellence is broadened upon visiting Aspire and seeing what is going on here. Just as other countries who have hosted major sporting events including FIFA World Cup lam sure Qatar will benefit tremendously from getting key industry decision makers from global football gathering in here in Qatar and coming together to gain a unique insight and access to key development projects in the region and right across Asia as it prepares to host an unprecedented number of major international tournaments culminating in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. When one is in Qatar it is worthwhile to visit and see the phenomenal work going on here at Aspire Academy”, said Mr Martin
Aspire Academy’s Director of Football Performance and Science, Professor Valter Di Salvo was one of the key speakers at the Doha Soccerex Asian Forum 2016 and shared on the work the Academy in conjunction with Qatar Football Association and the Qatar Stars League are pioneering in use of science in football as well as the “Aspire in the World Fellows” a program whereby a platform to gather and synergize the know-how of worldwide expertise to offer recommendations for the management and modern training methodology of youth football players to enhance their psycho-physical performance has been created by Aspire Academy.
