Doha, 5 February 2015. Last year's winner Aspire International did not dissapoint on the first day of the 'Al Kass International Cup': Goals of Kuk Hyon Ri (16') and Logan Tipene Rogerson (54') secured the multinational team a 2-0 win against German side Schalke 04. Coach Joao Pereira, who had been working with his team for just a few weeks, was happy about the win, but he also saw room for improvement. "We missed a couple of good scoring opportunities, however winning the first game was really important for us.
We have been playing together as a team for a very short time, while the other teams of the tournament have been together for years. The first game was a solid step into the right direction." The first three games of the competition were all quite exciting and the fans saw not less than 14 goals including a hat-trick scored by Arsenal-striker Stephy Alvaro Mavididi in a 3-2 win against Vissel Kobe. The last game of the day between AC Milan and River Plate was a real thriller, ending with a 4-3 win for the Italians.
