Doha, 3 February 2015. Aspire Academy’s U-12 feeder team returned from a successful “Athens Cup” in Greece where they put in a number of strong performances before emerging victorious in the final to bring home the trophy. The talents of the Academy’s feeder team traveled to Greece to compete in this tournament that gathered the country’s best youth academies in Athens, alongside big name clubs such as Panathinaikos, to compete for the popular “Athens Cup” trophy.
The team from Qatar impressed throughout the tournament with good organization featuring a solid defense and strong attacking line that allowed them to dominate their games and ultimately defeat Fostiras 5-1 in the final of the competition. Coach Fouad El Fdil was not only satisfied with winning the tournament but also with the way his young boys played. “I strongly believe that focusing on the football development process will eventually lead to good results.
Winning this tournament was a boost for the player’s confidence and I am sure it has motivated them to work even harder in the future.
