Doha, 7 December 2016. Two accredited Federation of International Gymnastics (FIG) expert coaches took time from conducting coaching workshops being held by The Qatar Gymnastics Federation (QGF) for participants from over 15 countries in Doha to visit Aspire Academy on Wednesday morning. Gymnastics Australian head coach, Peggy Liddick and Japanese Olympic Committee coaching director Takashi Kobayashi toured the Academy in the company of Ferras Ahmed from Qatar Gymnastics Federation.
The coaching experts were impressed by Aspire Academy facilities and the philosophy behind the concept of Aspire. Coach Peggy Liddick said, “This is a dream place for anyone and any country that loves sport and is keen to develop sporting talent. Going round and looking at what this place has and is about is truly inspirational and it’s such a rich investment for the people and country of Qatar one that definitely inspires others all over the world.” Said the American born Australian women’s gymnastics coach.
Meanwhile Takashi Kobayashi said he could see why Aspire Academy made such a good venue for international gymnastic competitions held here so far, “Aspire Academy is an ideal venue for holding international gymnastic competitions, it has all the required segments within close proximity and there are not many venues like that in the world. The work to identify, train and build-up competitive athletes is well-thought out and it’s all clear to see the plans and programs designed to get maximum sporting and educational output from the student-athletes and Aspire Academy embodies all this. ”said Kobayashi
