18 Nov 2015

Doha, 18 November 2015. On Tuesday November 17, Aspire Academy organised a careers fair in the Aspire Dome for its senior students, involving 12 local organisations and institutions.

Those organisations and institutions participating in the careers fair were drawn from a number of different industries as well as the public sector. These included Qatar Petroleum, Maersk Oil Qatar, Qatar Gas, Qatar Airways, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Hamad Medical Corporation, the Supreme Education Council, Commercial Bank, the Financial Aid Office at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Aspire Zone Foundation and the Qatar Olympic Committee.

The careers fair demonstrates Aspire Academy’s focus on educating and informing its students about the nature of the professional opportunities available to them in Qatar. It reflects the Academy’s overarching goal of guiding and supporting its students in choosing a career path that is rewarding and fulfilling and also ideally suited to them.

Commenting on the fair, Mr. Abdul Aziz Al-Jedaia, Student Affairs Manager at Aspire Academy said: “Our role at Aspire Academy focuses not only on nurturing and developing sporting talent, but also equipping our students with the tools and resources required to build a successful career and achieve their full potential. In addition to being an international sporting destination, Aspire Academy is also an exceptional centre of learning that provides advanced educational programmes in a wide variety of different subjects. All our activities contribute to giving our students as many options as possible in succeeding both in their education and also their career.”

The students taking part expressed their delight with the event and the benefit it delivered in introducing them to the world of work, understanding where their professional interests might lie, and helping them to decide which subjects are necessary to prepare them for their preferred career path. They also valued the opportunity to meet representatives from participating institutions and organisations both to learn about the opportunities available to them, and the nature of the job market in Qatar.
