Aspire Academy-students participate in “Youth Olympic Games”

With Walid Rafiq F A Daloul, Abdulrahman Mohsen N Al Naggar and Abdullah Zain Alsunaidi three students of Aspire Academy are among the 21 young athletes representing Qatar at the “Second Summer Youth Olympic Games” in Nanjing, China between August 16 and 28.  Swimmer Walid Rafiq F A Daloul (16) started with the 100m breakstroke competition on Sunday, where he finished 8th in heat 1 and he is going to participate in the 50m breakstroke race on Wednesday. Table tennis-player Abdulrahman Mohsen N Al Naggar (16) battled bravely, but went down to Switzerland’s Elia Schmid, China’s Hung Ka Tek and Tomislav Pucar from Croatia in the first stage of the men’s singles tournament and is now facing Jing Yuan Yin (Singapore) in the consolation round of 1/8.   The last student-athlete of Aspire Academy, who is entering the ” Youth Olympic Games” is Abdullah Zain Alsunaidi (17): He is going to participate in the qualification for the 10m Air Rifle-competition on Wednesday.
