Doha, 2 December 2015. Aspire Academy hosted on Tuesday evening a parents’ meeting for grade levels 10, 11 and 12 for the first semester of the 2015-2016 academic year. The meeting gave the Academy the opportunity to meet the parents of its student-athletes to reflect on their performance thus far, and discuss further collaboration and means of improving their academic lives.
Commenting on the meeting, School Vice Principal Mr. Ahmad Hussain Ali Abdullah said: “The parents’ meeting serves as a great platform for teachers and parents to assess the performance of the students after they have received their mid-semester progress reports. The meetings take on an open-discussion format, where parents can meet with the different teachers and coaches to discuss how to maintain and improve the performance of the students. The response from parents this evening was very positive, and we look forward to continue collaborating with them to enrich the growth of our student-athletes”.
Mr. Rashed Al- Mudahka, parent of Khaled Rashed, said: “Such meetings are very useful, as they help parents get a more holistic understanding of how their son is doing whether on the academic, athletic or behavioural level. Through this, parents and teachers can identify potential areas of improvement, and discuss how they can be enhanced both at home and at the Academy”.
Mr. Khaled Al-Yazeedi, parent of Khalifa Khaled, said: “Today’s meeting has been excellent, and I have noticed a clear difference in my son’s performance since the previous one. These meetings are very beneficial for the parents, as they present them with useful advice on how they can contribute positively at home to the development of their sons”.
