Doha, 13 November 2014. On Thursday afternoon Ivan Bravo, Director General of Aspire Academy,  welcomed former student-athlete and Qatar’s most successful high jumper Mutaz Aissa Barsham and his coach Stanislaw Szczyrba at the auditorium of the Academy to sign a sponsorship agreement between them and Aspire Academy. Bravo stressed that this day is a very special one for the Academy. “I believe that the most important relationship in sports is between a coach and an athlete and Mutaz and Stanislaw Szczyrba have proved that they are a very successful team. We take pride in their success and achievements for Qatar and we sign this agreement today because we want to support them in every way they want us to support them achieving their goals. Mutaz is a role model for our students, they look up to him and he is proof that you can achieve a lot if you work hard and if you have the support of a great coach like Stanislaw Szczyrba.” For the 23-year-old Olympic medalist Mutaz Aissa Barsham it was a return to his old school and he was happy to see former coaches and teachers in the audience. “I am very happy about this sponsorship, because it’s more than just signing a piece of paper. It’s also a moral commitment and an incentive for me as an athlete, because Aspire Academy and I have been through a lot together and for me it’s like a family. I am very thankful about this cooperation and I will do my best to show the students of the Academy what is possible if you work hard and believe in yourself.” “Mutaz is an outstanding talent and I am trying my best to improve him a little bit every day, because constant progress and focused day-to-day work is very important to me. I believe in this way of training and I am also looking forward to cooperating with Aspire Academy in the future”, said Stanislaw Szczyrba, who has been working with Mutaz since 2009.
