?Doha, 1 October 2014. There was considerable success for some student-athletes of Aspire Academy last night at one of the most highly regarded events in Qatar’s squash calendar, the “Radisson Blu Squash Championship” in Doha.   The five-day-long competition organized by the Qatar Squash Federation (QSF) was comprised of Men’s Professional, Men’s A and Men’s B divisions as well as junior age groups. The event culminated on Tuesday evening with Aspire Academy’s students taking home four of the six trophies available to them. In the Men’s Professional event, Azlan Amjad proved too strong for his competitors winning the division with the loss of only one game. His performance in the final was particularly pleasing, beating former PSA World Tour player Mohammed El Said 3-0. Umair Zaman played with great maturity upsetting two seeded players on his way to winning the Men’s A event.  He beat the number one seed 3-1 in the semi -finals before dispatching the number three seed by the same score in the final. He also reached the semi-finals of the Men’s Professional division, losing to eventual winner Azlan Amjad in a tense 3-1 battle.   Hamed Al Amri was on devastating form in the Boy’s Unger 15 category, winning the event without dropping a single game. On route to the trophy he beat fellow Academy students Mohammed Alyafei and Waleed Zaman in the semi-final and final respectively. Waleed Zaman followed up his second place in the Boy’s Under 15 with victory in the Boy’s Under 13 division beating Abdulaziz Al Ishaq 3-1 in the final.
