Doha, 9 January 2018. Belgian top league club side and Aspire Zone Foundation owned football team, KAS Eupen are in Qatar for their fourth consecutive winter training camp at Aspire Academy. The training camp will run from Monday 8 to Sunday 14 January 2018. KAS Eupen have on their books a number of Aspire Academy graduates and some of them are back at Aspire for this camp and include, Abdelkarim Hassan Fadlalla, Ahmed Homam Elamin, and Hamza Sanhaji. The other Qatari players who are part of KAS Eupen, namely Akram Afif, Abdulrasheed Ibrahim and Assim Madibo are currently away with the Qatar national U-23 team at the AFC Championships in China.
The team is under the guidance of new coach, former Real Madrid and Chelsea midfielder, Claude Makelele who took over from Jordi Auli Condom last November.
KAS Eupen delegation includes Chief Advisor International Football Affairs Aspire Zone Foundation and KAS Eupen FC board member, Andreas Bleicher, Director General, Christoph Henkel, Director Finance, Legal and Administration, Thomas Herbert and Marketing and Merchandising Manager Andre Palm.
During their time in Qatar, KAS Eupen will play a friendly match on Sunday 14th January against Chinese Super League side, Guangzhou Evergrande, who are also holding their mid-season break training camp at Aspire Academy. KAS Eupen will resume their campaign to remain in Belgium’s top league five days after they depart from Qatar with an away fixture on Saturday 20th January against Standard de Liege.
