Doha, 5 January 2018. Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) match officials and umpires took time off their busy QATAR EXXON MOBIL TENNIS OPEN tournament to visit Aspire Academy on Thursday 5th January 2018. The visiting officials included Fernando Sanchez, Ashraf Hamouda and Lars Graff. Former tennis player and now ATP Supervisor, Lars Graff waxed lyrical about Aspire and its philosophy to sport and education saying, “One can’t help but admire the thoughts, plans and execution for sport development that is taking place here at Aspire Academy. It’s simply phenomenal and offers the best opportunities any young athlete would needs as they develop and seek to turn professional in their respective sport. With the excellent facilities, world’s top coaches and chance to for high school education the athletes who are selected to enroll at Aspire are privileged indeed and ought to make the most of this opportunities. Qatar’s outlook towards sport in general is outstanding and positive and the country hosts international events to a very high standard. I have experienced this in tennis with the QATAR OPEN which is well organized throughout. As we have gone round Aspire Academy we have been blown away by what we have seen and heard on the tour and l believe Qatar will continue to put together and stage successfully international sporting events and the country is set to host a great FIFA 2022 World Cup.”
