Doha, 22 December 2016. Italian football club AC Milan vice-president and CEO , Adriano Galliani and his counterpart CEO of Juventus FC Giuseppe Marotta led delegations from their two clubs on a tour of Aspire Academy on Thursday 22nd December morning. The Italian football executives were met, welcomed and accompanied on the tour by Aspire Academy Deputy Director General Mr Ali Salem Afifa.
Juventus and AC Milan are in Qatar to play for the Italian Super Cup tomorrow Friday 23rd at Doha’s Al Sadd Stadium with kick off scheduled for 7.30pm.
AC Milan vice president and CEO, Adriano Galliani said after the tour, “Aspire Academy is phenomenal and it takes sport development to another level. I have been hugely impressed by what l have seen and it shows how Qatar is astutely planning and setting out ambitious goals to be among the best”. His fellow Italian and Juventus FC CEO, Giuseppe Marotta also gave his remarks at the end of the tour saying, “I see that Aspire continues to grow and charter the way as a leader of sport academies throughout the world. The facilities and sport programs run here at Aspire are world class and future of sport in Qatar is well nurtured and developed here. I will not be surprised on the positive impact this Academy will have on this country. It’s a great example to sport development for the rest of the world,” concluded Marotta
Qatar will host The 2016 Italian Super Cup featuring Juventus and AC Milan and this is the 2nd time round Doha is the venue for this cup final.
