Doha, 21 December 2016. Italian football giants, Juventus held a training session at Aspire Academy ahead of Friday 23rd December Italian Super Cup final against AC Milan at Al Sadd stadium. The reigning Serie A champions return to Qatar keen to make amends for penalty shoot-out loss to Napoli in the final of the same Cup two years ago.
The Old Lady (as Juventus is affectionately known) arrived in Doha last night ready to maintain their blistering pace which has seen them open a seven point lead in Serie A season so far. Aspire Academy graduates, Mutaz Barshim and Ashraf El Seify were among the sizeable multitude and adoring fans who thronged to Aspire to watch Juventus go through warm- up and stretches.
Juventus coach Massimilliano Allegri spoke optimistically about his team chances in the final, “We are in good shape and will be ready on Friday. Our main goal is to win the Cup and not to revenge the 1-0 loss to AC Milan when we played them back in October”
The Italian Super Cup featuring Juventus and AC Milan will kick-off at 7.30pm on Friday 23rd at Doha’s Al Sadd Stadium.
