Doha, 23 August 2016. On Tuesday morning a high-ranking sports delegation from the Football Association of Thailand lead by its President, POL.GEN. Somyot Poompunmoung paid a visit to Aspire Academy. The Thai are in the country to play a football international friendly match against Qatar, and after consultative meetings with their counterparts at Qatar Football Association the delegation toured Aspire Academy.
Patit Suphaphongs, Deputy General Secretary was part of the visiting team that included among others national director of coaching and members of Thai media. POL.GEN. Somyot Poompunmoung and his team, were officially welcomed by Aspire Academy Director General Ivan Bravo who went on to give the Thai delegation a presentation of Aspire Academy’s football philosophy and modus operandi followed at the institution.
“What we have seen and heard during this visit has really been impressive and we are going to explore areas of mutual co-operation with both QFA and Aspire Academy especially in coach development. The facilities and the philosophy of Aspire Academy and it’s truly inspirational and Thailand is keen to start on a similar journey with its football development” said President, POL.GEN. Somyot Poompunmoung.
