?The reds of Manchester United and England defense line star, Rio Ferdinand, has visited Aspire Academy today Morning , upon his short visit to Doha as a guest of Al-Jazeera sport channel.
Ferdinand has been welcomed to the academy by director general Mr. Ivan Bravo, who explained the premier league player the concept of the Academy, how it works and what is the mission and vision ahead to form young athletes for Qatar different national teams.
The 34 year old reds defender has been taken in a tour of the different facilities of Aspire Academy where he received explanations about the facts and figures. He also signed the wall of fame in the academy reserved to sporting stars and VIP visitors.
Rio was so pleased to visit ” once again the academy and said he has the chance to visit Aspire twice before with the reds during two times winter training camps in 2010 and 2013”, but this time the visit ” is quite different as far from the pressure of training,” he added.
Ferdinand, who visited the academy as a fruit of the good relationship with its management, has also met with some of Aspire Student Athletes, signed autographs for them and addressed a brief piece of advice to them as he congratulated them on the great environment and the good care they are provided with in Aspire.
