All three sides in the latest edition of Aspire Academy Tri-Series won a segment each in yet another pulsating and entertaining tournament for 1998, 1999 and 2000 generation. Aspire Academy 1999 generation picked up four (4) points from two matches to clinch the cup while Red Bull Salzburg won the 2000 generation category with Universidad de Chile emerging victorious in the 1998 section.
Red Bull Salzburg 2000 generation coach, Ralf Santelli sang praises for the Tri-series concept and the organization of the tournament: “Tri-Series is so ideal for the objectives we set our teams and affords us invaluable opportunity to assess ourselves against good sides like Aspire and Universidad de Chile. It’s the best learning experience a teenage footballer could ever ask for and we are honoured to participate in this tournament”. His opposite number in the Universidad de Chile, Nicolas Prieto was equally impressed by general tournament and teams his side faced, “ It has been a great experience throughout and the hospitality has been wonderful. I enjoyed both games and thought the Aspire team had good pace and controlled the midfield very well. I am sure if they continue playing together, they will become a formidable team.”
Red Bull Salzburg had in their contingent an Adult Resident who ran and supervised the boys’ school. Mrs. Sabine Doerschlag and she was able to liaise with Aspire Academy school in carrying out her duties, “ The facilities at the school are fantastic and it was all well arranged for the boys to do their ninety (90) minutes of school work a day. All went like clockwork and it has been such an enriching experience”
