All set for Aspire Academy 2016 Scholarship Ceremony

26 Apr 2016

It is that time again when more than sixty (60) boys and their parents and families converge at Aspire Academy to take the first steps on an incredible six (6) year journey as selected 2016 Aspire Academy Scholarship recipients.

Over 200 people including Aspire Academy Director General, Ivan Bravo, Sports Federation and club representatives will welcome the new entrants at the august ceremony which is one of the highlights on the Aspire calendar, “The Scholarship Ceremony” is on Wednesday 27th April 2016 and these student-athletes will be the first to join since the Aspire School has been awarded the world renowned and recognized Council of International Schools accreditation, (CIS).  This academic accreditation reflects the high quality of education both inside and outside the classroom which these fortunate athlete-students will benefit from.

The Scholarship Ceremony is the culmination of a number of programs to identify the best young athletes from Qatar.  In Sport, the Talent Identification Program tested around four thousand (4000) boys in schools throughout Qatar as well as from the Academy's own Multi sport skills development program. For Football, many of the selected players have spent a number of years in the Academy's Feeder Program to prepare for selection whilst others have come been scouted from the club system. The Ceremony is also an important opportunity for parents to come together and learn about the unique programs of football, sport and high school education as all are welcomed into the Aspire Academy family.
