GRADUATE EL SEIFY BROTHERS WIN MEDALS AT WEST ASIAN ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Aspire Academy graduates brothers  Ashraf and Ahmed El Seify won gold and bronze for Qatar, respectively, in the hammer throw event at the West Asian Athletics Championships.

Ashraf, who graduated in 2014, won Saturday’s event by throwing 72.80 metres in the Iraqi city of Basrah, while his brother, who graduated in 2015, managed 68.82 metres. Both athletes compete for the Al Gharrafa club in Qatar.

There was also a silver medal for 2018 graduate Moaaz Ibrahim, who represents the Al Sadd club in the discus with a throw of 58.34m.

Qatar won a total of 12 medals in Basra, including six gold medals, two silver medals, and four bronze medals.

Another Al Gharrafa athlete, Tosin Ogunode, who is coached by Aspire Academy’s Lee Christopher, also returned home to Qatar with a medal after he claimed bronze in the 100 metres.
