Aspire Academy, the world’s leading academy for youth sports development, has announced today the official joining of Australian football icon, Timothy Cahill, as a new staff in the position of Chief Sports Officer.
The retired Australian international, and all-time leading goal scorer for the Australia national team, having scored 50 goals in 108 matches between 2004 and 2018, had an outstanding global professional career - from Australia (Sydney United- Melbourne City) to the English Premier League (Millwall FC and Everton FC), from America’s MLS (NY Red Bulls) to China’s Super League (Shanghai Shenhua and Hangzhou Greentown) and India (Jamshedpur FC). Cahill was the first Australian to score at a FIFA World Cup.
Prior to joining Aspire Academy in his new role as a Chief Sports Officer, Cahill has been completing his UEFA Coaching Licenses, as well as studying sports business and management at both Harvard and Josoor University. He has also undertaken commentary work with BBC and Sky Sports covering the English Premier League. Additionally, Cahill has participated in some of Aspire Academy coaching programs over the past two years.
