?Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF), the leading sport city in the Middle East today honored two young gymnast participants of the 5th FIG Artistic Gymnastics Challenge Cup with the ‘Aspire Rookie Award’.
The awards are a testament of AZF’s commitment to encouraging and nurturing an entire generation of future athletes and leaders of sport. They recognized the best young male (under 20) and best female (under 18) from the competitions.
Artur Davtyan from Armenia and Diana Bulimar from Roumania emerged as the eventual winners of the awards, and received the Awards from Aspire Academy, Director of Sport, Wayde Clews and Head of ASPIRE ACTIVE Dr. Leonieke Richardson. Artur has performed 15.725 points on the Vault meanwhile Diana has a total point of 14.95 on the floor. He was born on 08 August 1992 and she was born 22 August 1995.
“On behalf of Aspire Zone we would like to acknowledge the excellent performances of Artur and Diana,” said Clews.
“The Aspire Rookie Award is designed to inspire and recognise young athletes and fits with our commitment to develop youth in sport.”
Taking place with less than 150 days from the opening of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, the 5th FIG Artistic Gymnastics Challenge Cup featured a record breaking 41 female and 76 male gymnasts representing a total of 31 different countries from all continents who registered to compete at an event that takes place for the fifth consecutive year since its launch in 2008.
Aspire Zone Foundation played a major role in supporting the event with Aspire LOGISTICS providing venue and event services, Aspetar supplying medical services and the Aspire Academy producing five of the competitors that represented Qatar.
