Aspire Academy student-athletes won a silver medal for Qatar at the Asian Under-23 Fencing Championships, while Ahmed Korani claimed a bronze at the World Table Tennis Youth Contender event in Dubai.
At the under-23 event in Malaysia, the team of four fencers that finished second in the team epee event included three current student-athletes — Abdulrahman Al Jadra, Ali Alkhlif, and Youssef Abdeltawab — along with 2024 graduate Muhammad Abdulali.
Three of the fencers are still eligible to compete at the under-20 level, while Youssef Abdeltawab competes in under-17 competitions.
The team overcame the Philippines and Thailand on their way to the final before losing by just a single strike to gold medallists Uzbekistan.
All four fencers also competed in the individual event, with Abdulrahman Al Jadra the highest-placed, as he finished 7th overall after he lost to eventual winner Hong Kong’s Hsu Hong Zhan Kenton in the quarter-finals.
In the men's individual foil event, Aspire Academy student-athlete Khalifa Abdalla claimed 10th place.
