Doha, 20 November 2019. In course of the “Doha Learning Days” organized by the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) from November 14 to 19 in Doha, Aspire Academy hosted a workshop on the topic “What is the Body’s Affect on the Brain: Performance, Focus, Emotional & Behavioral Balance” on November 19.
The event, that addressed local and international education specialists and that was run by Aspire Academy’s Head of Academic Support, Dr Jamil Babli and Master Brain Trainer Mohammed Abu Zeinab, provided the participants some deeper insights into the connection between brain and body and also gave them the opportunity to try out certain techniques to stimulate brain functions.
“We live in a fast-paced world, where people face many mental challenges regardless of their age, gender, race and social status. I would say that the most difficult challenge is the coordination between what the mind wants and what the body does,” said Mohammed Abu Zeinab.
“All the modern technologies that we have today are consuming a lot of our time every day. That affects our brain function for things such as our attention, our memory and it can also cause aggressive behavior. Just like we charge our mobile phones every day, we should not forget to charge ourselves. It’s important that we take 15 to 30 minutes per day to relax, do breathing exercises and totally switch off from the distractions around us,” said Dr Babli.
The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) is an international, multi-sectoral platform for creative thinking, debate and purposeful action.
