Aspire Academy squash team competes in Italy

?The coastal town of Riccione, Italy was the first stop for the squash team of Aspire Academy in course of their summer training camp. From June 20 to 22 the players participated in the “Italian Junior Open 2014” – a tournament that was part of the European “ESF Junior Circuit Gran Prix” and attracted some of Europe’s best young players and a huge number of international talents. Foundation year student Rashid Al-Harib showed some strong performances and managed to take 10th place after being defeated by the eventual winner of the U13 event, Alasdair Prott from Scotland. Three students of Aspire Academy participated in the U15 event: Ali Al-Dosari achieved the 15th position, Hamad Al-Amri was finally ranked 18th. Due to an injury Mohammed Alyafei was unable to complete all of his matches and finished 24th. In the U17 category Abd El-Aziz Omeira reached the round of 16 and went on to take 14th place. The next stop for our squash team is the “Portuguese Junior Open” in Porto that starts on June 27.
