Aspire Academy's last Parents' Meeting of the 20th Anniversary academic year took place, with student-athletes preparing for the final weeks of the term and the end-of-year exams.
The exam period is set to begin early June, and parents were able to check in on their child's academic progress throughout the year.
The key message throughout the evening was the significance of preparing for exams while also maintaining a balance with their sports training.
Aspire Academy Vice Principal Issa Al Moslemani underscored the importance of the parents' meeting for student-athletes:
"Amidst the busy sports schedules, the regular parents' meetings become a vital channel of communication. It allows us to assess our students' progress both academically and athletically, to hear parents' insights, and to address their concerns fully. Through these moments of communication, we strengthen trust, provide clarity, and ensure that every guardian feels confident that their child is supported in every way."
Nabil El Zhar, a former Liverpool player whose son is an 8th-grade footballer at Aspire Academy, highlighted the importance of interacting with teachers: "With exams around the corner, it's crucial that we, as parents, stay closely connected with the teachers. These meetings are an opportunity to understand where our children stand academically and how we can best support them. Success on the field starts with discipline and success in the classroom."
Khalid Yassin, Aspire Academy's Art Master Teacher, emphasised the importance of parental involvement during exam period: "Parental participation in meetings like these is crucial, as it strengthens the partnership between home and school, ensuring that together we can better support the academic, athletic, and personal growth of our student-athletes."
Aspire Academy graduate and nutritionist Mustafa Shahbandar pointed out that the meetings also provide an opportunity to share information about a wide variety of topics related to the well-being of the student-athletes:
"Parents' meetings are crucial because they allow not only coaches but also nutritionists to work closely with families, ensuring that players' physical development, including proper nutrition and healthy growth, is carefully monitored and supported for their overall success."
This parent's meeting demonstrates Aspire Academy's continued commitment to student success, as evidenced by their 20-year track record of excellence.
The final exams will take place ahead of the ceremony for the 18th batch of Aspire Academy graduates, which is due to take place in the final week of June.
