Aspire Academy Football student athletes left for their Winter Training Camp in Turkey

Aspire Academy football department has chosen the Turkish city of Antalya as their winter training camp base, as part of an intensive program to prepare them in the best possible way for the rest of the season and a great opportunity to work with the whole group of Football student athletes together in a different climate and environment.  

The Aspire Academy delegation has left Hamad International Airport on early morning Friday for the Turkish city of Antalya with the sole objective to gain the at utmost benefits from intensive training sessions, friendly games and most importantly gaining experience from playing against stronger opponents through friendly games against different football leading schools.   

"This winter training camp aims to provide our players with more opportunities to learn from different football schools and measure themselves to different styles of play. It is also a great occasion to spend some time together, as a group, far from the normal daily trainings we are going throughout the season at our premises; to give our boys a boost of positive energy and gain more group homogeneity. As we all know, we have gone through tough times since mid-2020 after the outbreak of the pandemic, and this is the first training camp for our football boys out of Qatar since then.  We are looking forward to this one-week training camp as an important station to recharge batteries for the rest of the season and also a mean to measure our work with other football schools through some friendly matches that we programmed during this training camp,” said Aspire Academy Football Technical director, Edorta Murua.  

Turkey winter training camp comes immediately after Aspire Academy student athletes finished their first term exams and got their term break, which will allow them to focus mainly on their trainings and development, especially that all football activities in the country is stopped to seed floor to the FIFA Arab Cup – Qatar 2021, currently staging on all the FIFA World Cup – Qatar 2022 venues.

It is worth mentioning that over the past year and so of the pandemic, the of Aspire Academy football players have not stopped training either on the field or online. The players showed great commitment and dedication in the past period and reached their best levels catching up with the level of competition and maintain their levels and develop them. The Academy’s training staff seeks to provide all the training resources for students to develop their levels in accordance with the precautionary measures imposed by the state.
