?As part of its mission to promote healthy fitness and nutrition lifestyle choices and help the population of Qatar proactively address the increasing rise of non-communicable diseases, ASPIRE ACTIVE , ASPIRE ACADEMY’s community program, presented ” Spin towards a healthier lifestyle” in celebration of World Health Day 2012.
The two hours of open air spinning and cardiovascular challenges were held under the professional supervision and coaching of our ASPIRE ACTIVE team. A keen focus prevailed throughout the event on educating the participant on the importance of regular exercising to positively impact their health and well-being.
The event attendance was remarkable. A large crowd of individuals from different age groups and nationalities were seen “spinning for health” on the open air stage positioned between the ASPIRE ACADEMY and Hamad Aquatic Center. Organizers estimated the participants well over 100 people from different ages, nationalities and gender.
Commenting on the event, Dr. Leonieke Richardson, Head ASPIRE ACTIVE said: “On behalf of AZF and ASPIRE ACTIVE, we welcome you all to celebrate and promote World Health Day 2012. The “Ageing and Health: Good Health adds Life to Years” campaign is a worldwide call recognizing that we have a choice to embrace health. ASPIRE ACTIVE wants to declare with our partners here in Qatar that millions over the world can choose a healthy future. Our ASPIRE ACTIVE community programming is a tool providing actions and solutions for individuals to step in this direction.
ASPIRE ACTIVE’s fitness and healthy lifestyle programs are uniquely designed for the people of Qatar. We aim to start at the beginning by educating our clients that healthy lifestyle continues at home. It does not start by walking into a fitness club and end once exiting. We teach our clients how to live outside our 4 walls and how they can choose healthy alternatives!” she added.
ASPIRE ACTIVE champions preventive fitness and health exercise offerings, in a quest to tackle the growing epidemic of non-communicable diseases such as obesity, hypertension and diabetes in Qatar. ASPIRE ACTIVE is proud to have reached an attendance figure of over 250 000 in 2011 with an ever increasing participation base from its Qatari members.”
