Doha, 3 April 2016. Aspire Academy hosted a parent meeting for grade levels 7, 8 and 9 last week, where parents met with the Academy’s teachers and coaches to discuss enhancing means of collaboration in support of the academic and athletic performance of the Academy’s student-athletes. The meeting also helped the Academy’s teachers and coaches communicate their expectations of the student-athletes, build close rapport with the parents and boost trust with the local community.
Commenting on the meeting, School Principal Mr. Jassim Al-Jabir stated that continuous communication and dialogue with the parents of the Academy’s student-athletes is one of the key objectives for the Academy’s faculty, as it helps build a positive relationship between the Academy and the parents that supports the development of the students.
Al Jaber also emphasised the importance of the parents’ role in supporting the guidance and education the students receive at the Academy, which enriches their growth. He called upon parents to spend time with the students on a daily basis to get updates on how they are doing, adding that it provides the students with a positive sense of support and guidance that will contribute to their development.
From his side, Mr. Ali Ahmad Khalifa Al-Muhannadi, parent of one of the Academy’s athletics students, commented that these meetings are beneficial to both parents and students, as they help identify areas of development and facilitate continued dialogue between the Academy and parents.
Engineer Abdulaziz Mohammed, parent of one of the Academy’s gymnastics students, expressed his delight with his son’s continually improving athletic and academic performance, which he attributed to the Academy’s attention to the students’ performance and support in areas that need further development. He emphasised the importance of the parent meetings in helping keep both the parents and the Academy aligned on the future direction of the student-athletes.
