SILVER MEDAL FOR QATAR’S U21 AT ARAB TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Cairo, 2 August 2018. Qatar's U-21 Table Tennis Team featuring Aspire Academy graduates Mohamed Abdulwahab, Abdulrahman Al Naggar and current student-athlete Abdulaziz Al Hajaji won the silver medal at the 26th Arab Championship, held in Egypt, after losing 1-3 to Egypt in the final match of the team competition.

The event, taking place in Cairo from July 30 to August 6, features 13 Arab nations including Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Yemen, Palestine, Sudan, Iraq, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon hosts Egypt. Besides the senior teams, around 386 players are competing in U21, U18, U15 and U-12 age-categories.

The Cadet Table Tennis team of Qatar (U-12) also performed well in the team competition and won the bronze medal after a 3-2 victory over Iraq in the third and fourth place match.
