Gifu, 10 June 2018. The 2018 Asian Junior Athletics Championships in Japan turns out to be a very successful one for Qatar. Among a number of outstanding results of Aspire Academy’s current and former student-athletes, Muhand Saifeldin managed to win over 1,500m and in the 3,000m steeplechase event, while Moaaz Ibrahim triumphed in shotput.
The 18th edition of the international athletics competition for Asian under-20 athletes is taking place from 7–10 June at Gifu Nagaragawa Stadium in Gifu, Japan, and over four days athletes born between 1999 and 2002 competed in 44 events, divided evenly between the sexes. Thereby, Aspire Academy student-athletes and graduates showed some very great performances: Besides the gold medals of Muhanad and Moaaz, Bassem Hemeida finished second in the 400m hurdles event, while Moaaz also came in second in discuss throw.
