Everton FC chooses Aspire Academy for mid-season camp

27 Jan 2015

Doha, 27 January 2015. Premier League-club Everton is another team that decided to come to Doha this winter: Manager Roberto Martinez and his squad used a short mid-season break to fly out to Qatar and train from January 23 to 27 at Aspire Academy.

For Blues-manager Martinez going to Qatar offered a great preparation for the upcoming game against Crystal Palace on January 31. “Aspire Academy is a phenomenal project and here you have the chance to stay outside for hours because the weather is always what you want it to be.” Going to Doha also had a positive effect on the team spirit.  “It is like a pre-season within a season and we have got a lot of high intensity into our work but we are not treating all players in the same way.

The facilities here are second to none and they have really helped towards our work. And, of course, we are spending more time together, which is also a benefit,” said Roberto Martinez.
