Doha, 22 March 2017, England U-18 football national team took time to visit Aspire Academy on Tuesday 21st March afternoon. The group was led by Head coach Neil Dewsnip on the tour of the facilities. England Under team is in Qatar to play against the hosts as well Saudi Arabia.
Dewsnip said “The facilities here are the best of its kind anywhere in the world. The work we do is to try and develop the players on a pathway to the senior team, so conceivably some of the boys here with us this week could be back here pulling on the shirt again in FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2022 for the ultimate honour so being here will add to the learning experience, It’s very exciting. It’s not an experience many of players of this age will have had,” ” said Dewsnip
“So we are looking forward to the experiencing here in Qatar and it’s not too long now before the World Cup in Qatar, so this is a bit of a fact-finding mission. “Our technical director Dan Ashworth has already asked that I feed back as much information as possible!” concluded Dewsnip
The England Under-18s enjoyed a fruitful 2016, losing just one of their six games since defeating Italy 2-1 in September, and triumphed in the Triangular Tournament on home soil in November.
