Despite constant pressure from its international counterpart, Aspire Academy took the lead in the first half after Surag scored from close range (28’). However, Aspire International fought back and turned the game with goals from Baidoo (38’, 86’), Alabbasi (73’ o.g.) and Orazov (90’) securing them a 4-1 win and seventh place at this year’s ‘Al Kass International Cup’. "It was a good game from both teams and I think the match gave spectators and officials an impression of the excellent work being achieved by Aspire in terms of developing young football players.
Unfortunately we were not up to the challenge to make it to the semi-finals this year nevertheless I want to thank every one of my players for the effort they showed over the last few weeks. It was great working with them and great being part of this prestigious tournament" said Aspire International coach Joao Carlos Pereira. Aspire Academy head coach Mohamed Al Shafai agreed: "This tournament has been a great learning experience for the boys and competing against strong teams is the best way to find out where you stand and identify the areas that you still need to work on."
