ASPIRE FOOTBALL DREAMS GRADUATE – MOUSSA WAGUE QUALIFIES FOR RUSSIA 2018 WITH SENEGAL

Doha,12 November 2017. Aspire Football Dreams graduate and current Aspire Zone Foundation owned club side K.A.S Eupen right back and Senegal international, Moussa Wague was part of his country’s national team that secure qualification for FIFA World Cup, Russia 2018. During the same weekend another AFD graduate, Henry Onyekuru played for already qualified for Nigeria senior team that has already qualified for final Russia 2018 qualifier. With both Nigeria and Senegal reaching next year’s final in Russia, Wague and Onyekuru stand to be the first AFD graduates to play in senior men’s FIFA World Cup.





Moussa Wague (19) born in October 1998 represented Senegal at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand where his team finished fourth in the tournament. Wague was at Aspire Football Dreams from 2014 before graduating and joining K.A.S Eupen in 2017 where he made his debut in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League in a match against Genk in January 2017. Wague made his senior international debut in a friendly 1-1 tie with Nigeria on 23 March 2017and has featured in Senegal’s qualifying games for Russia 2018. He was in the starting line-up for matches against Burkina Faso and Cape Verde and also made a couple of substitute appearances during the campaign. Come next summer in Russia, 2018 the possibilities of seeing the first Aspire Football Dreams scholarship graduates participate and play in a senior men’s FIFA World Cup look bright.
