ASPIRE ACADEMY ATHLETES IMPRESS AT ARAB ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS IN ALGERIA

Aspire Academy student-athlete Seif Hemeida and graduate Ashraf ElSeify both secured gold medals for Qatar at the recently concluded Arab Athletics Championships in Oran, Algeria.

Seif Hemeida once again broke his own national record on his way to victory in the pole vault as he cleared 5.62m, while Ashraf ElSeify managed 72.98m to win the hammer competition.

The new record for Seif Hemeida, who Qatar Athletics Federation’s Pawel Szczyrba coaches, sees him ranked in the top 50 pole vaulters globally so far in 2025.

There were also medals for Aspire Academy-trained Oumar Doudai Abakar, who claimed silver in the 110m hurdles, and graduate Moaaz Ibrahim, who took bronze in the discus.

The four medals for Aspire Academy athletes helped contribute to Qatar’s overall haul of seven, which included four golds, two silvers and a bronze.
