19 Sep 2019

Doha, 19 September 2019. Qatar U-16 National football team made up of players developed at Aspire Academy and coached by Aspire staff begun their campaign with a 2-0 win over Bangladesh in a Group E match of the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers played in Aspire Dome Indoor Stadium on Wednesday night.

After a goalless first half Aspire and Qatar team head coach, Abdul Razzaq Haider’s side opened the scoring ten minutes into the second half when Rashid Al Abdulla beat the Bangladesh keeper with a well-placed shot (55').

Qatar came close to adding on to their score on several times before Abdulrahman Al Dosari made sure of all three points with the second goal (90').

Qatar will next play Yemen, who hammered Bhutan 10-1 on Friday, 20th September, in a match that will probably decide the group winner. The other match on Friday pits Bangladesh against Bhutan.
