Aspire Academy’s last Parent’s Meeting of the academic year is a crucial part of the student-athletes’ preparations for their final exams, says school principal Jassem Al Jaber.
With the end-of-year tests due to begin in early June, the meeting on Tuesday evening gave parents the chance to check on their sons' academic progress and get advice on how they can best prepare for the exams.
Principal Jassem Al Jaber explained the importance of the meeting ahead of the assessments.
“We have just over one month until the final exams, and even the parents themselves have concerns about this period,” he said.
“So, during this meeting with the teachers, they can better understand what is needed and follow up things with their sons.”
“This is an opportunity for them to discuss their sons' performance. They can learn about any gaps their sons may have, and so they can follow up and support us in helping the students succeed in the coming few weeks.”
The school’s psychological counsellor, Dr. Mohammed Al Enizi, echoed those thoughts.
“The school administration meticulously plans and schedules these meetings across the academic year,” he pointed out.
“These timings are thoughtfully chosen to anticipate upcoming needs. This meeting aims to ensure parents and students are well-prepared for the forthcoming final exams.”
“The parents aspire for the school to help their sons focus not only on academics but also on sports while also fostering strong moral values in their children.
As Nasser Abdullah, whose son Khalid Nasser Abdullah is a student-athlete in swimming, pointed out, the parents are in no doubt about how important these meetings are.
“These meetings are extremely important; when I witness the relationship between Khaled and his teachers, I feel immensely comforted and reassured,” he said.
“Seeing how they treat him as if he were their own son fills me with a sense of security and peace of mind whenever Khaled attends Aspire Academy.
“It reassures me about my son’s future in every aspect: moral, academic, and athletic.”
The final exams will take place ahead of the ceremony for the 17th batch of Aspire Academy graduates which is due to take place on 17 June.
