Ukrainian Pole vault legend and actual president of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, IOC member, Sergei Bubka has visited Aspire Academy Yesterday afternoon.
The six time IAAF world champion and pole vault record holder, Sergei Bubka, was accompanied by HE Brigadier General Dahlan Al-Hamad, vice president of the IAAF and president of the QAAF, as well as other members of both the Ukrainian Olympic committee and QAAF was welcomed at the academy’s VIP entrance by the director of sport at Aspire Academy Mr. Christopher Earle and other representatives from the academy.
Mr. Bubka was then briefed about how the academy works and given some statistics and explanations about the mission and vision of the academy, and then toured the different facilities where he was given all the related information.
He then signed both the Aspire guest book and the wall of fame where he wrote:” if you beat yourself you will beat everyone”; and then received a commemorative medal of Aspire from the director of sport Christopher Earle.
After that, the academy guest and QAAF president have joined the Academy indoor track and field where the federation cup indoor athletics championships cadet and youth was taking place.
