Izmir, 8 January 2020. As part of the on-going collaboration with Turkish club Altinordu FK, Aspire Academy took the squads of their 2003 and 2004 generations to Izmir for their winter training camp as preparations for the second part of the season 2019-20.
Izmir is a metropolitan city in the western extremity of Anatolia and the third biggest town in Turkey, after Istanbul and Ankara with a population of 4.2 million. The delegation from Doha arrived on January 2 on Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport and was welcomed by a delegation of Altinordu FK and a moderate temperature of 10 °C degrees. For eight days, Turkey should become the home for the 63 Aspire Academy players and the 23 coaches, physio therapists, scouts, video analysts and support staff led by Fahad Al-Shamari, Head of Delegation.
“The conditions here could not be better. From the accommodation up to the training facilities everything offers a high standard and the organization has been perfect. We really want to thank our friends from Altinordu FK for their support and we are certain that this training camp is a great experience for our boys on a personal and professional level,” says Jonatan Cabanelas, Technical Coordinator of Aspire Academy’s Football Department.
Apart from two daily training sessions and friendly games against youth teams of Manisha FK, the Aspire delegation also had the opportunity to get a better insight into the Turkish culture by taking part in social activities including a city tour of the picturesque city of Izmir.
