Doha, 21 February 2019. Aspire Academy concluded the latest Tri-Series football tournament which was for 2005 and 2006 generations and involved the hosts alongside, Kuwait and FC Dynamo Kyiv from Ukraine. Running from 17 to 20 of February 2019 the tournament provided some contrasting football styles and plenty of goals. FC Dynamo Kyiv walked away with the honours in the 2005 generation category and their goalkeeper, Dmytro Kosach and midfielder, Yevhenii Mykytivk were goalkeeper and player of the tournament respectively
Aspire midfielder, Faisal Al-Mukahal scoped the best player for the 2006 generation while Kuwait generation 2006 goalkeeper, Abdullah Alayoub was the top keeper. Kuwait team claimed the winner’s trophy for generation 2006 category.
Speaking after the tournament, Aspire U-13 coach, Alexandre Garcia said, “As coaching team we were able to assess the progress our players are making during this tournament. The main goal from this tournament is the long-term development of its individual football players. We believe playing such tournaments is of great importance in the learning process for our players.”
FC Dynamo Kyiv U-13 player, Viacheslav Surkis was impressed by what he saw and experienced during his first ever trip to Qatar, “I enjoyed playing in the Tri-Series tournament and both Kuwait and Aspire teams were strong and gave us a good match. The facilities from the hotel to the playing fields and the city of Doha are so impressive. I will take great memories of this place with me back to Ukraine and l am grateful to have played in this tournament.”
Kuwait team coach, Aqeel Muhanna expressed the gratitude of Kuwait people to Qatar and Aspire for the invitation to Tri-Series, “Playing in this competition is of tremendous help to us as we face opponents of high standard of play and this helps our players become better and raise our level.
