Qatar will be represented by four Aspire Academy student-athletes at the upcoming Arab Youth Athletics Championships in Oman.

The event, for under-18 athletes, is being hosted in Salalah and gets underway on Friday 8 September.

Ibrahim Abdalla will compete in the 800m, Mahamat Abdrahman in the 400m hurdles, Mubarak Al-Noubi in the 110m hurdles and Rakan Al-Rashidi in the long jump.

The team travelling with officials from the Qatar Athletics Federation also includes several Aspire Academy coaches for the four-day championships.

Ross Jeffs will support Al-Noubi and Al-Rashidi, Lee Christopher will be training Abdrahman while Amad Jad will be looking after Abdalla.

Abdrahman will be looking to add a medal to the gold one he won earlier this year at the Asian Under-18 Championships in Uzbekistan in April.

While Abdulla will be hoping to improve on his fourth-place finish in Uzbekistan.

Al-Noubi set a personal best at those championships and will aim to improve that as he bids to get among the medals in Oman.

Al-Rashidi also missed out on a medal in April as he finished sixth and he too will seek to reach the podium this time around.
