Doha, 5 Februay 2016. The first day of the 'Al Kass International Cup' brought some highly entertaining football games to the pitches of Aspire Academy including a 2-2 between Benfica and Aspire Football Dreams.
Four goals, two missed penalties, and countless chances illuminated a gripping game between Benfica and Aspire Football Dreams. Nyanje (48') and N'Dri (71') put Aspire ahead 2-0, but the Portugese came back thanks to goals scored by the substitues Andrade (72') and Campos (87').
“Benfica are one of the best teams here. Everyone has their individual strengths but we showed that we had pace and skill on the ball, we played well in the start of the second-half but we made mistakes allowing Benfica to come back and equalise. We played well today and I’m proud of the team, we always try to perform to the best of our ability and I believe we will do well in the tournament," Alexandre Garcia Canedo, Coach of Aspire Football Dreams, commented on the game.
In the two other games of the day Inter Milano defeated Shanghai Greenland 7-0, while Red Bull Salzburg won 3-1 against Celtic Glasgow.
